Different keystroke patterns used to type Punjabi in the Gurmukhi script created a strong need for effective font converter tools. While some font converters were already available, Sikh Siyasat aimed to offer a more user-friendly, free, and convenient option. On March 31, 2016, we launched the Punjabi Gurmukhi Unicode Font Converter as a dedicated Font Converter page on our English news website.
This converter was designed to allow real-time conversion between various Punjabi fonts listed in the input and output fields. It eliminated the need to submit text to a server and wait for a response, making the process quick and seamless.
An improved version was released on April 23, 2021, further enhancing its performance. The converter gained widespread popularity within the Punjabi typing community, and tens of thousands of users relied on it regularly.
However, when our website was blatantly restricted in India, access to the font converter was also affected. To address this issue and continue supporting our users, we have decided to launch a dedicated website for the Punjabi Gurmukhi Unicode Font Converter by Sikh Siyasat, along with desktop applications for Mac OS and Windows.
